A Counselor Assistance Program to help summer camp counselors navigate a successful summer

Summer CAP is an employee assistance program for summer camp counselors and staff providing private, therapeutic coaching sessions to help counselors manage the stress of the job and their own mental health.

How Does it Work?

Summer CAP provides an employee assistance program for summer camp counselors and staff providing private, therapeutic coaching sessions to help counselors manage the stress of the job and their wellness.  Summer camps will contract with Summer CAP for a block of one-hour sessions to be available for all staff confidentially.

Why Coaching?

Coaching is a mode that focuses more on the present and navigating the difficult summer experience rather than assessment and treatment of specific mental health issues.

Who are the Coaches?

All Summer CAP coaches are:

  • Master’s level clinicians

  • Have at least 5 years of experience working with youth as a summer camp counselor, wilderness therapy guide, wilderness therapist, or therapist in a residential treatment setting. 

  • Have at least 3 years of experience mentoring new staff in a residential therapeutic setting. 

  • Are extremely skilled at forming connections, building rapport and working with young adults.


Pricing

Summer camps contract with SummerCAP for blocks of 30 sessions for $6000

How it Works

Camps provide Summer CAP with a list of eligible employees. Employees can contact summer CAP directly and confidentially to set up a coaching session. Summer CAP staff work to connect a counselor with a coach within 48 hours. Sessions are done via secure video conferencing.
